The testing of hydraulic valves, pumps and cylinders covers a wide range of flows. From full flow rates at pressure to small leakage rates, the wider the test stand’s capabilities the greater its ROI and usefulness in the plant. By incorporating a hydraulic flow meter with a 1000:1 operating range into your test stand, you may reduce the number of test stands that you require. At a minimum, a wide ranging flow meter will reduce the complexity of the stand with fewer sensors, piping or annual calibrations required.
A tight machined fit between the piston and the cylinder gives the Max family of piston meters the ability to measure accurately at 1/1000th of their full flow range capability. Such a meter can measure full flow through a valve or pump and still provide accurate information about the leakage rate through a drain valve or crankcase.
Max equipment specified:
High end capabilities, up to 35 LPM are possible through the Model P215. Additional benefits include: the ability to measure any viscosity fluid without a need to adjust the meter's k-factor, an insensitivity to vibration and flow ripple and, if desired, the ability to measure bi-directional fluid flow. The Max family of Piston meters have a standard pressure rating of 3000 psi (210 bar). For higher flow rates and pressure up to 4000 psi (414 bar), the Max G Series of gear meters can extend your measurement range to 105 or 240 LPM.
